Nagashi Somen (More Miyazaki)

Takachiho has a specialty food called nagashi somen, which translates to "flowing noodles." Basically, you sit at your table, and the somen noodles flow past you down a bamboo chute. You have to catch them with your chopsticks if you want to eat.


If you don't catch them, they keep on flowing right off the end of the table.


But don't worry. There's a basket underneath the end of the chute that catches them, and the waitress brings it to you to finish at the end of the meal.

It's definitely a fun way to eat!
